Painted Ladies and Gents.

The Mrs Siddons costume was made from scratch, referencing the original Thomas Gainsborough painting from 1775.

Pattern’s were drafted after researching the period. The undergarments, such as petticoat, corset and bum roll, were made to create the silhouette. The cream silk was then printed and backed with a dark blue cotton before being put together.

The costume was displayed at numerous events at The National Gallery, London.
